1. Controller and contact
Vesper is operated by Vesper, a sole proprietorship operated by Ohk Jeonghye in the Republic of Korea. Vesper is responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy. Contact us at support@vesperstar.app. Phone support is not offered.
This Privacy Policy is intended to describe Vesper's English privacy practices in one place. If mandatory privacy or data protection rights apply where you live, those rights apply in addition to this Privacy Policy and prevail where required by law.
2. Information we collect
Account and login information
Email address, login provider identifiers, display name, account status, language, timezone, consent records, authentication logs, and support history.
Birth and astrology data
Birth date, birth time, birth place, timezone, coordinates needed for chart calculation, natal chart data, transit data, and astrology profile data. Vesper uses this data to personalize charts, transits, reports, and Ask Stars. Vesper does not use birth data for third-party behavioral advertising.
Ask Stars and notes
Questions, generated replies, relevant chart context, saved notes, reading history, credit usage, safety flags, and limited generation metadata.
Payments and subscriptions
Purchase tokens or order identifiers from Google Play or another app marketplace or payment provider, product identifiers, entitlement status, subscription period, cancellation/refund status, receipt-validation records, and support records. Vesper does not receive your full card number when payment is processed by an app marketplace or payment provider.
Device, usage, and diagnostics
IP address, user agent, app/browser context, device identifiers used for push notifications, event logs, error logs, security logs, and approximate technical location signals.
Place search and notifications
Birth place search queries, selected place results, notification preferences, push tokens, and notification delivery records.
3. How we use information
- To create and secure your account.
- To calculate and personalize natal charts, transits, readings, Ask Stars, and saved notes.
- To provide paid entitlements, receipt validation, refunds, support, and dispute handling.
- To send service messages, push notifications you enable, and account notices.
- To detect abuse, prevent fraud, protect the Service, debug errors, and improve reliability.
- To comply with tax, accounting, consumer protection, app marketplace, and legal obligations.
4. AI processing
Ask Stars and some personalized content may send your question, relevant chart context, language, and limited generation metadata to paid AI service provider(s). Under the current paid provider settings and terms Vesper uses, Vesper does not permit prompts, context, or responses from the paid service to be used to train or improve the provider's general AI models without Vesper's permission or instruction.
AI provider systems may still process information for service delivery, abuse monitoring, security, technical operations, legal compliance, and limited retention under their own service terms. Vesper limits the context sent to what is needed to provide the requested reading and does not use Ask Stars as a human professional review service.
5. Service providers and sharing
Vesper shares information only as needed to operate the Service, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete user-requested actions. Current categories include:
- Hosting and database providers, including Render.
- App marketplaces and payment processors, including Google Play Billing, and Google account services, Google Cloud, and related Google services used for payments, authentication, infrastructure, and app operation.
- Paid AI service provider(s) used to generate Ask Stars and personalized readings.
- Error monitoring and diagnostics providers, including Sentry.
- Place search providers, including Geoapify and OpenStreetMap/Nominatim data services.
- Professional advisors, authorities, app marketplaces, or counterparties when reasonably necessary for legal, tax, accounting, consumer dispute, fraud-prevention, or safety reasons.
Vesper does not sell your personal information and does not share birth data, chart data, Ask Stars questions, or notes for third-party behavioral advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention
- Account, login, chart, settings, and entitlement data are kept while your account is active and then deleted or anonymized after account deletion unless Vesper must keep limited records for legal, tax, payment, fraud-prevention, support, or dispute purposes.
- Ask Stars questions and replies are generally retained for 180 days from generation, after which they are deleted or anonymized unless you save related content or retention is needed for support, safety, fraud-prevention, or legal reasons.
- Detailed generation context is minimized after 30 days where operationally possible.
- Payment, refund, tax, and accounting records are retained as required by applicable law and marketplace policies.
- Security, abuse-prevention, server, and diagnostic logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to their operational purpose.
7. Account deletion and your choices
You may request account deletion in the app settings or through the Account deletion page. You may also contact support@vesperstar.app.
Vesper generally processes verified account deletion requests within 30 days. Some backup, security, fraud-prevention, payment, refund, tax, accounting, dispute, or legal compliance records may be retained separately for the period required or permitted by law and then deleted or anonymized.
Account deletion does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through Google Play, another app marketplace, or a payment provider and does not automatically request a refund. To stop renewal, cancel through the store or payment provider where you purchased the subscription. For Google Play purchases, use Google Play subscription management or Google Play refund tools, or contact Vesper support.
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, or other rights available under applicable law. Vesper may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
8. Cookies, local storage, and analytics
Vesper may use cookies, session storage, local storage, and similar technologies for login, security, app context, preferences, rate limits, and service reliability. Vesper does not currently use third-party behavioral advertising cookies.
9. International processing
Vesper is operated from the Republic of Korea and uses service providers that may process information in Korea, the United States, Japan, the European Union, and other locations where providers operate. Vesper uses provider agreements, access controls, and operational safeguards appropriate to the service.
10. Security
Vesper uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encrypted transport, logging, and limited provider access. No system is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for keeping your login method secure.
11. Children
You must be at least 18 years old to use the English Service. Vesper does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, you are prohibited from using the English Service or providing personal information to Vesper. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information, contact support@vesperstar.app.
If Vesper learns that a user under 18 has provided personal information, Vesper may restrict the account and delete or anonymize the information, except where limited retention is required for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, payment, or dispute purposes.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
Vesper may update this Privacy Policy when the Service, providers, law, or operational practices change. Material changes will be announced in the Service or by another reasonable method. The updated policy applies from the effective date shown above unless applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
